Class 4 District 2 Girls Semifinals Preview

The MSHSAA Class 4 District 2 girls’ semifinals will take place tonight from Ste. Genevieve High School. The round starts with top seed Central taking on four seed Herculaneum. Central received a bye into this round while Herculaneum advanced with a 55-49 win over Notre Dame-St. Louis. Central head coach Josh Mapes is confident that his team won’t lose focus.

Herculaneum has won two straight. Head coach Riley Baird talked about the importance of defense across the two games.

Central is 23-3 on the season while Herculaneum is 15-12. That game tips off at 5:00.

In the second game of the night, two seed Potosi faces three seed Ste. Genevieve. Potosi received a first-round bye. Ste. Genevieve defeated Bayless 59-27 to advance. The bye means that Potosi will enter the game having not played a game in over a week. Head coach Allie Golden took advantage of this time off to focus on her team’s offense during practices.

Ste. Genevieve coach Jordanna Walk-Robison is encouraging her team to leave everything on the floor.

Potosi has a record of 13-13 and Ste. Genevieve is 9-14. They are scheduled to tip off at 7. Coverage begins at 4:45 on J98.
