Class 5 Sectional Between Hillsboro and Vianney Baseball is Tuesday on KJFF

(HILLSBORO) The Hillsboro baseball Hawks are taking on the Vianney Golden Griffins Tuesday at Hillsboro High School in the Class 5 Sectionals on AM 1400 KJFF.

As the top seed in the Class 5 District 2 tournament, Vianney beat Fox and Rockwood Summit to win the title and improve its record to 26-9.

Selected as the 4-seed in the Class 5 District 1 tournament last week, the Hawks were able to beat Cape Central, Jackson, and then Seckman to win it and improve to 14-6. Hillsboro head coach Kevin Lucas says that the team was motivated to prove the doubters wrong.

 
Coach Lucas will be going with future Southern Miss Golden Eagle Michael Brewer on the mound.

 
First pitch for the Class 5 Sectional from Hillsboro High School is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Tuesday. The Flieg’s Equipment Pregame Show will begin at 1:45 on AM 1400 KJFF.
