Class Five, #8 Farmington Girls Use Strong 4th Quarter To Beat Fredericktown, 51-37, On KREI

(Farmington) The Class Five, #8 Farmington Knights used an explosive fourth quarter to pull away from Fredericktown for a 51-37 victory on KREI.

P.J. Reutzel scored all seven of Fredericktown’s first quarter points but Farmington led by one after one quarter.

Farmington took a seven point lead with time winding down in the second quarter…

But Fredericktown went on a 4-0 run to close the first half, giving Farmington an 18-14 advantage heading into halftime.

 

Fredericktown got to within one point in the third quarter but Farmington stayed hot from three…

 

However, Fredericktown had another run at the end of the quarter. Farmington led 30-27 heading into the fourth…

 

Fredericktown took a one point lead early in the fourth quarter but it didn’t last long…

 

That was the start of a 20-5 run for Farmington that eventually led the Knights to their first MAAA conference win. Brynn Johnson ended up with 18 points, all three pointers.

Farmington coach Rusty Sancegraw said the ball movement was better in the second half…

 

Jade Roth scored 15 points for Farmington. Reutzel had a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds for Fredericktown.

Farmington improves to 14-2 and 1-0 in conference play. The Knights will play the Class Four, #4 Central Rebels next Thursday.

Fredericktown drops to 6-8 and 0-1 in conference play. The Blackcats are at Saxony Lutheran on Monday.
