(Jefferson County) Beginning in October, the Code Red emergency notification system is going away. Kara Lewis is the Accreditation and Public Relations Manager for Jefferson County 9-1-1 Dispatch. She says Code Red is being replaced with a new system. She says when Code Red was brought in, it was pretty much the only option at the time.

Lewis says the Everbridge system can be used to notify any user of all kinds of alerts.

Lewis says the process to get Everbridge starts with downloading the app on your mobile phone.

To get started on your profile go to the website Member dot Everbridge dot net. You can also reach Kara Lewis at (636) 797-9797 ext. 106. Again for those using the Code Red notification system, it will no longer be available after October.
