Controlled Burns Possible Today in Mark Twain National Forest

(Potosi) The first forest fire of the season was fought last weekend in the listening area by National Forest officials.

Mark Twain National Forest Ranger Becky Ewing, from the Potosi/Fredericktown Ranger District, says that fire was near Viburnum.

Ewing says they hope to do a couple prescribed burns today.

Ewing says they have plans for other prescribed burns this spring within the Mark Twain National Forest.

She says the public can find out when these burns are taking place by going to the Mark Twain National Forest website or by checking their Facebook page.
