Convincing Victories Tonight in American Legion

Potosi, Bonne Terre, Festus, DeSoto, and the Mineral Area Orioles were all in action tonight. There were convincing victories across the board as Bonne Terre Post 83 defeated Potosi Post 150 11-5. Bonne Terre improves to 2-2 on the season and will play Festus tomorrow at 7 pm from North County High School. Potosi is still searching for that first victory of the season falling to 0-7. Their next game will be against DeSoto at 7 pm from DeSoto Senior Highschool Thursday.

Festus Post 253 got revenge against DeSoto SMCI taking tonight’s matchup 6-1. Dylan Schnitzler pitched a complete game only allowing 5-hits and Laine Axtetter reached base 3 times and scored 3 runs. Festus improves to 7-4 on the season and DeSoto falls to 7-6.

The Mineral Area Orioles’ momentum came to a screeching halt tonight, losing both games in a doubleheader against the Cardinals Legacy Perfectos. The Orioles did not have the pitching to keep up with the Perfectos, as they still do not have a fully healthy roster. Due to the limited amount of pitchers and no fresh arms, Coach McKinney says that they will cancel Thursday’s matchup against Cape Post 63. The next game for the Orioles will be Sunday at Wilson Rozier.
