County council approves purchases of new investigative equipment for sheriff’s office

(Jefferson County) During Monday night’s Jefferson County Council meeting, the council approved the purchase of a number of investigative equipment for the sheriff’s office.

The equipment will eventually be housed in a new crime lab which the sheriff’s office has been given the green light to build.

County Executive Dennis Gannon tells us the sheriff’s office will begin to use the new equipment right away.

Gannon agrees this is a proactive approach not only by the county council for approving the purchases but the sheriff’s office in getting the necessary investigative equipment to use now but also when the crime lab is constructed.
