Covid cases rising and the Delta variant is here

(Hillsboro) Covid-19 cases continue to increase in Jefferson County. Over the last week or so, daily positive Covid cases have been in the double digits and that trend continues. Also, according to Jefferson County Health Department Director Kelley Vollmar, the delta variant is now here.

Vollmar says it looks like Jefferson County is about to fall back into Orange status with the Covid-19 color guidance indicators.

Today (Wednesday), the Health Department reported 67 new cases of Covid-19 in the county, bringing the total number of positive cases to 24,386 since March of last year. The active cases stand at 249, and 255 deaths have been reported since the start of the pandemic.
