Crawford County Man Wins P.B.R. Rookie of the Year Award for 2022

(Forth Worth) The 2022 World Finals in Professional Bull Riding, held this past week in Fort Worth, Texas, wrapped up Sunday.

After the final day of competition, a 19-year-old from Crawford County Missouri was rewarded with a season-ending award.

The hotly contested 2022 P.B.R. Rookie of the Year was decided in this final week of competition.

Riding a cut above the rest, 19-year-old sensation Bob Mitchell of Steelville earned the coveted Rookie of the Year honor, edging out runner-up Clayton Sellars of Florida.

We asked Mitchell how the prize money looks in the big leagues of bull riding.

Mitchell won over 50-thousand dollars in the 2022 P.B.R. season and he ended up ranked the 21st best bull rider in the world.

As for this past week’s World Finals, Mitchell finished 24th out of 45 competitors.

Bob had one full 8 second ride in the World Finals. 19 competitors were bucked off during every one of their attempts.

Even Daylon Swearingem from the state of New York, the World Finals winner, was bucked off himself twice.

Swearingem was also named the 2022 P.B.R. World Champion Bull Rider.

He won a whopping $1,697,000 for the 2022 season.

$1,394,000 of those winnings were what Swearingem won last week in the World Finals alone.

In his short P.B.R. career, Crawford County’s Bob Mitchell has 41 full rides in 124 attempts.

That’s a 33-percent success rate…that’s pretty good as far as P.B.R. standards go.
