Crystal City School District Announces Next Superintendent

(Crystal City) Last week the Crystal City School District officially announced its next Superintendent.

Current Crystal City High School Principal Matt Holdinghausen will take over the role on July 1, following current Superintendent Dr. Steven Barnes last day.

Holdinghausen has been with the school district since 2003, serving the last five years as high school principal along with teaching several courses while also coaching junior high and varsity football, softball, and baseball.

Dr. Barnes announced in March he would be leaving Crystal City to become the Morgan County R-2 School District Superintendent.

Prior to becoming Superintendent of Crystal City, Dr. Barnes served as the Assistant Superintendent of Morgan County schools.
