Crystal City School District Announcing they Are Searching for a New Superintendent for the 2020-21 School Year

(Crystal City) The Crystal City School District is in the beginning stages of searching for a new Superintendent for the 2020-21 school year.

Current Superintendent Dr. Steven Barnes will be resigning at the end of June.

According to Dr. Barnes he will be leaving Crystal City to be the next Superintendent of the Morgan County R-2 School District.

Dr. Barnes was the previous Assistant Superintendent of Morgan County R-2 prior to becoming the superintendent at Crystal City.

Dr. Barnes adds he will miss his time working at Crystal City.

Dr. Barnes has been in place as Superintendent of the Crystal City School District since July 1 of 2019. His last day will be on June 30.

The board of education has started the hiring process to fill Dr. Barnes role in hopes to have a replacement way before July 1.
