Cuba Student Elected New Missouri F.F.A. Vice President

(Sedalia) During this weekend’s 93rd Missouri FFA Convention in Sedalia, a student from Crawford County, Riley Spurgeon was named the 2021-2022 State F.F.A. Vice President.

Spurgeon is a member of the Cuba F.F.A. Chapter.

Her parents are Kevin and Dana Spurgeon of Cuba. Spurgeon’s supervised agricultural experience program includes livestock photography, gardening, a flock of market poultry and a herd of cattle.

She also works at her family’s greenhouse.

During high school in Cuba, Spurgeon served as chapter president, reporter, area vice president and chaplain.

Riley competed in multiple leadership development events and career development events.

In addition to FFA, Spurgeon was a member of Future Business Leaders of America, yearbook committee and National Honor Society.

Outside of school, Spurgeon is a member of the Prairie 4-H Club, Missouri Quarter Horse Association and Missouri Simmental Association.

After graduating high school, Spurgeon’s plans include attending the University of Missouri to study agriculture education and art.

She also hopes to participate on the meats evaluation and livestock judging teams.
