De Soto at Festus Friday to Open District Playoffs

(FESTUS) The football game of the week on KJFF 1400AM will be the (1-8) De Soto Dragons at the (6-3) Festus Tigers. Both teams are coming off of losses from last Friday, The Tigers lost 42-14 to Jackson and De Soto lost to Orchard Farm 34-28. De Soto’s only victory this season came in Week One, a 34-28 victory of Bishop DuBourg with Hancock.
In preparing for the Dragons this week, Festus head coach A.J. O’Fodile says practice has been going well.
According to O’Fodile, the team needs to minimize penalties and mistakes.
The Tigers have had their share of injuries and O’Fodile says the situation with some players is “day to day”.
Meanwhile, De Soto head coach Russ Schmidt says the Dragons will need a better effort than what they brought last week.
According to Schmidt, to prepare for Festus the Dragons need to do their “football homework” and sharpen their football I-Q.
Schmidt says like all teams this time of year, the Dragons have guys nursing injuries.
