(IRONTON, Mo.) – For two straight seasons, junior middle hitter for the Arcadia Valley Tigers volleyball team Maddie DeMent has shown that the sky is the limit as far as her abilities are concerned, and this year she did it in record-breaking fashion.

DeMent is a Dream Teamer for the second consecutive campaign after breaking AV’s single season kills and blocks record.

In total, the junior amassed 473 kills and 64 blocks.

DeMent credits her two setters, Gracee Smith and Shyanne Smith-Hotchkiss for stepping into unfamiliar roles and still getting her the ball, as she comments on the blocks as well.

As far as the team is concerned, even though AV bowed out in the district finals this year as opposed to their second place finish in state from 2018, DeMent says it was still a great year.

Of course leading the charge during DeMent’s two Dream Team seasons has been head coach Tara Lamb, who DeMent has high praise for.

Now with 1,056 career kills, DeMent is the first non-senior to ever make it over 1,000 kills for Arcadia Valley.

When asked about her goals for her senior season, DeMent said she wants to make it back to the state tournament.
