Dennis Gannon on Councilman Terry’s resignation

(Hillsboro) Jefferson County Executive Dennis Gannon received a resignation letter from District 7 County Councilman Jim Terry on Friday. Gannon says he was a little shocked by the move.

Terry cited several reasons for resigning which mostly concentrated on the lack of funding to clean up problem areas within his district with run-down buildings, derelict vehicles, and flooded areas that were never cleaned up. Gannon says the council and county officials will look to the charter verbiage to begin the process of finding a replacement to serve Terry’s term.

Jim Terry’s resignation will become official at the end of May, he has served as the District 7 County Councilman since 2015.
