Deputies investigating apparent murder, suicide at Fenton area home

(Jefferson County) A married couple is dead in what authorities believe to be an apparent murder-suicide that occurred at a residence in the 1200 block of Fenton Ridge in the unincorporated portion of Fenton in northern Jefferson County.

Sheriff’s office spokesman Grant Bissell says 9-1-1 dispatch received a call at 10:44am on Monday from neighboring residents after a couple of teenagers ran out of the house and heard gunshots.

When deputies arrived to the house they had to force their way in through the front door.

The 47-year-old female victim is identified as Kirstin Gentemann and the 57-year-old male suspect as Steven Gentemann.
