(Desloge, Mo.) With a new budget year starting July 1st, the Desloge City Council passed a new budget during their meeting Monday night. City Administrator Dan Bryan says they will be working with less money than they did this fiscal year because of the pandemic.

And since Desloge recently passed an ordinance to allow chickens in town, citizens apparently like it because Bryan says during just about every council meeting, they have new requests to keep the fowl in their backyards.

In other news from Monday night’s Desloge City Council meeting, June election results for the city were certified. Alvin Sutton, Patty Kagel, Dionne Christopher and J.D. Hodge were all sworn in for 2-year terms after winning their council member races. Alvin Sutton was also appointed president of the Desloge Board of Aldermen.
