DeSoto 4th of July parade and fireworks

(DeSoto) There will be a few places around Jefferson County to view fireworks tomorrow (Tuesday). One of the longest-running traditions takes place in DeSoto. The annual 4th of July parade will take place, spearheaded by the DeSoto Chamber of Commerce. DeSoto City Manager Todd Melkus says this event has always been popular.
The fireworks display will again be held on the DeSoto High School campus around 9:15. Melkus says the Lions Club has sponsored the fireworks for some time, and it’s become more difficult to fund the event.
Anyone who would like to donate to the DeSoto Lions Club to help with the finances for the fireworks can contact member John Allen at (636) 208-7284.
There will be a fireworks display at the Hillsboro Civic Center which is free to attend. Gates open at 6, and fireworks will take place at dusk. There will be vendors, as well as food and drinks for sale.
