DeSoto City fire department numbers for 2022

(DeSoto) The DeSoto City Fire Department is getting back to normal after 2022 saw a loss of a truck due to an accident in April. While the new truck has arrived, they are currently outfitting it with the equipment they need to have it ready for service. As far as their staffing is concerned Chief James Maupin says they are full, but the need for additional firefighters would be helpful.

Chief Maupin says their calls for service increased in 2022.

Of those 629 calls, 40 of those were fire calls, 229 were rescues and EMS calls, 29 were hazardous condition no fire calls, 54 alarm sounding calls, 223 were calls for mutual aid and 24 were other calls.
