DeSoto City Fire Truck overturns during call

(DeSoto) A DeSoto City Fire Department truck overturned while responding to a call-out on Tuesday afternoon. Fire Chief James Maupin says the call took place around 1:30 in the afternoon and the vehicle was traveling along Highway V when the incident took place.

Chief Maupin says with one of their truck out of the mix, they had a neighboring department step up and loan them one of their backup vehicles.

The City of DeSoto and the fire department will go through the insurance procedures to determine when a new or replacement truck can be available. Chief Maupin wanted to thank several other local agencies that stepped up to help during the incident, the Crystal City Fire Department, DeSoto Rural, Hillsboro, and Mapaville Fire Protection Districts.
