DeSoto duels Hillsboro in baseball conference clash on KJFF

(Hillsboro) Conference and county rivals continue their home-and-home when the DeSoto Dragons visit the Hillsboro Hawks Friday on KJFF.

Both sides are hoping that starting play in the JCAA Large-School Division will jump-start their seasons.

After winning 20 games and a share of the conference title last year, DeSoto has lost four of its first 6 games this season.

Dragons head coach Matt Buechting believes that a pitching staff lead by seniors Caleb Coleman and Cody DeClue will be the key to turning things around.

Despite the return of top hitters like junior Austin Romaine, Hillsboro has started just 2-6 and has a team batting average below .250.

The Dragons got the better of the Hawks Thursday 3-2.

Hillsboro and DeSoto continue their league series on Jefferson County Baseball.

Coverage starts with the Flieg’s Equipment Pregame Show just after 4 Friday afternoon on AM 1400 KJFF.
