(DESOTO) It was a couple of weekends ago that the DeSoto girls cross country team finished 4th at the Class 3 state meet in Jefferson City. 2 of the 7 qualified individual runners took home a medal. They were freshman Kayla Vogelsong and junior Lillie Kaempfe who finished 16th and 22nd, respectively.

Head coach Aaron Young was pleased with their performances throughout the season.

Coach Young can’t contain his enthusiasm for the future of DeSoto cross country, especially with Vogelsong there for the next three years.

Coach Young is also proud of seniors Jewell Kohler and Kaitlyn McGinnity who finished 98th and 114th, respectively, as well as freshman Riley Petsch who took 30th, sophomore Erika Mellor 45th, and sophomore Hannah Kamp 117th.
