DeSoto Rotary Club hosting a concert and dance by “Mobb”

The De Soto Rotary Club will host a concert and dance featuring the Missouri Big Band (MOBB) with vocalist Joe Scalzitti on Saturday, June 17, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in De Soto from 6-8 pm. Proceeds from the event will support Rotary service projects community and Rotary International’s seven areas of focus. The Missouri Big Band is Directed by Joe Pappas, it’s a roaring band that celebrates the best jazz music that appeals to all ages.

With Joe Scalzitti crooning like Sinatra, we asked Pappas if the band tends to “channel” the Nelson Riddle Orchestra which backed Frank Sinatra on many of his hits.

Pappas says the set list will contain many memorable songs.

Admission is $15 for adults and $12 for ages 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the De Soto Chamber of Commerce, De Soto Public Library, and First State Community Bank on De Soto Main Street or at the door the night of the event.
