DeSoto SMCI pulls off comeback at Festus #253 on KJFF

DeSoto SMCI rallied to earn a big early-season win over Festus Post 253 6-4 in American Legion baseball Thursday night on KJFF.

Festus jumped out right away to a lead with a big first inning.

But DeSoto’s Levi Fischer locked 253 down from there, not allowing another run.

That gave SMCI the chance to bounce back, and they did just that.

Kayden Voyles got the four-out save to shut the door and help DeSoto take over first place in District 13.

Fischer finished with 9 strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings and was the Applebee’s of Farmington Player of the Game.

DeSoto improves to 7-5 overall and 3-1 in district play, while Festus falls to 6-4 overall and 2-1 in the district.
