DeSoto soccer looking for turnaround with new faces in 2020

(DeSoto) The DeSoto Dragons will be a young boys’ soccer team in 2020, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be exciting.

After a 4-13 campaign last season, head coach Nate Reiser says the challenges he faces this year are not that different from most years.

Top goal-scorer Tyler Dutton is gone, but junior Chase Reichmuth was right behind him and will be called on to lead the attack this season.

Reiser also says they’ve stuck with a change they made late last year, moving senior Zach Keck into the field and allowing sophomore Hunter Guertzgen to step in at keeper.

It’s because of those returners that, despite so much youth, Reiser is focused on the season’s endgame.

DeSoto is slated to open the 2020 boys’ soccer season September 3rd at Northwest.
