DeSoto Sophomore Kayla Vogelsang Discusses Girls Cross Country Dream Team Runner of the Year Honor

(DESOTO) The girls Dream Team Cross Country Runner of the Year is DeSoto’s Kayla Vogelsang. Kayla finished 12th at state in Class 3 with a time of 19-minutes and 26-seconds to lead the Lady Dragons to a 2nd place team finish, their highest position at state in program history.

It wasn’t an easy year, to say the least, for Kayla as she struggled to get into the swing of things early. Her confidence wasn’t where it needed to be and it wasn’t until later in the year that she turned the page.

For Kayla, it’s very nice to be considered the runner of the year.

Other top finishes this season for Kayla Vogelsang include 5th at Clayton, 2nd at the JCAA Conference Meet, and 1st at districts for Class 3 District 1.
