DeSoto Travels to Hillsboro For Jefferson County Friday Night Football Matchup

(Hillsboro) Jefferson County Friday Night Football returns to Hillsboro highschool tonight as the Hawks host the DeSoto Dragons in Class 4 District 1 action. The Hawks enter this game with a record of  5-1 and a 4-game win streak, capped off with a dominant performance in a 53-0 win against Windsor. With a victory tonight, Hillsboro has a chance to cement their spot at the top of the District and get one step closer to a number 1 seed in the district playoffs.

Hillsboro is dangerous rushing the football, dynamic playmakers Austin Romaine and Jaxin Patterson have combined for over 1,200 rushing yards in 6 games and are averaging 332 rushing yards per game. While we can marvel at these kids’ stats, Coach Bill Sucharski says it all starts with their veteran-led offensive line.

On the other hand, it hasn’t been the season the Head Coach Keith Woodland wanted for the Desoto Dragons. His team comes into the game 0-6 and has been outscored by opponents 267-29, but they continue to fight each game. Coach Woodland is proud of his guys for not quitting and continuing to give each team their best shot.

While this game on paper seems to be one-sided, coach Sucharski knows that this matchup can be dangerous.

Coach Woodland says it’ll be an uphill battle against the Hawks tonight.

Hillsboro and DeSoto face-off tonight on Jefferson County Friday Night Football live on AM 1400 KJFF. Kickoff is at 7 with the Fliegs Equipment Pregame Show at 6.
