DeSoto volleyball brings back big hitters, big excitement

(DeSoto) The DeSoto Dragons might not have put up the results to show it, but 2019 was a year of progress.

10 wins were largely the product of all-conference hitter Kamryn Pehle and fellow outside hitter Kiley Roth.

But both players are back to lead a deep senior class.

That experience makes head coach Lindsey Brinkman excited for what’s ahead.

Pehle joined fellow seniors Taylor Jones and Abby Pope to combine for 147 blocks last season.

Brinkman says that’s just one aspect of what she thinks can be a stout defensive team.

But in 2020, everything feels uncertain.

And Brinkman says that message is one she preaches every day with a senior-heavy team.

DeSoto opens the 2020 volleyball season participating in the Windsor Invitational Saturday in Imperial.
