DeSoto’s Brown named girls’ wrestling Dream Team Coach of the Year

(DeSoto) John Brown of the DeSoto Dragons is the 2022 Regional Radio Dream Team Coach of the Year for girls’ wrestling.

Brown has guided one of the most impressive programs in the area over the last few years.

2 DeSoto grapplers earned medals at state this year in sophomore Ella Bradley and senior Hannah Eberhardt, who join former 3-time state champion Jaycee Foeller as a Dream Team athlete.

Brown says having that kind of great former teammate taught his current wrestlers what they need to do to be great.

After Bradley won a district championship, she finished third in the state at 159 pounds.

Eberhardt ended her career by earning third place and districts and sixth at state in the 149-lbs weight class.

Brown says it’s been a lot of work for the duo to reach these heights.

And Brown is quick to thank the other people who helped mold his roster.

DeSoto has now has had at least multiple Dream Team wrestlers in two of the last 3 years.
