DeSoto’s Landon Porter Commits to McKendree University for Wrestling

(DESOTO) DeSoto wrestling’s three-time state qualifier and two-time state placer, senior Landon Porter, has announced his verbal commitment to continue wrestling at McKendree University.

Porter walks us through the experience of the recruiting process.

 
Landon made the announcement about his decision on his personal Twitter account and in it thanked his family, coaches, and friends for helping him through the recruiting process. Additionally, Landon said,

“I’m ready for this next chapter in my life and I’m beyond excited to be a Bearcat!”

Not only will Landon be joining a wrestling program at McKendree that has had success in the past, but it’s a place that reminds him of home.

 
McKendree University is located in Lebanon, Illinois. The Bearcat’s men’s wrestling team was recently picked as the top team in this year’s Great Lakes Valley Conference preseason poll. DeSoto’s Landon Porter will be in pursuit of a state championship in the 285-pound weight class in Class 3 in his final season as a Dragon. Porter will officially sign on November 14th.
