DeSoto’s Porter ends career with state title, Dream Team Wrestler of the Year honors

(DeSoto, Mo.) DeSoto‘s Landon Porter finished off one of the best wrestling careers in school history by finally getting to the top. The Dragon senior won a state championship in Class 3 at 285 pounds after being one of the best heavyweight grapplers in the state in his 4 years.

For the second straight year, he is also a member of the Regional Radio Dream Team, and he was also voted as the Dream Team Wrestler of the Year. Porter says what finally got him a state title was becoming more of an offensive force.

Porter went unbeaten in his final season on the mat, but he says he had great local competition all season long.

Having won another district title to cap a career full of winning, Porter has a long list of people he’s grateful for joining him for the ride.

Porter is going to wrestle collegiately at McKendree University.
