Double fatal accident near DeSoto
(DeSoto) Two people were killed, and two others were injured in a two-vehicle accident Friday morning on US Highway 67 at Pappin Road near DeSoto. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2015 Chevy Impala driven by 71-year-old Dellene Spegal of DeSoto began to cross 67 from Pappin and pulled into the path of a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica driven by 55-year-old Louis Strecker the 4th of St. Charles. The impact caused both vehicles to travel off the right side of the roadway and overturn. Dallene Spegal and a passenger 85-year-old Jimmie Spegal were pronounced deceased at the scene by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance personnel. Another passenger, 70-year-old Marsha Bennett of DeSoto was airlifted to Mercy Hospital St. Louis with serious injuries. Strecker was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South with moderate injuries. The accident, which shut down US Highway 67 for a few hours, took place just before 10 o’clock Friday morning.
