Drought Creeping Back Into Southeast Missouri

(Farmington) Our part of the listening area that had been experiencing normal ground conditions shrank a little bit during the past week.
That’s according to the U.S.D.A.’s Drought Monitor map of the state.
Normal conditions still continue for nearly all of Iron and Madison counties.
The southern sliver of Washington County and the southwestern corner of St. Francois County are still in good shape, along with eastern Reynolds and western Bollinger counties.
Moderate drought conditions are located in most of Crawford and Dent counties, along with all of Shannon County.
Moderate drought has also crept into the northwest corner of Washington county and southeast Jefferson County.
The rest of the listening area is dealing with abnormally dry conditions.
Other parts of the Show-Me State is still worse off with moderate, severe to even extreme drought conditions.
