Drowning on Meramec River in Crawford County

(Bourbon) A group of people floating on the Meramec River Saturday afternoon say they tried to perform life-saving measures on a St. Louis man they found but they weren’t able to revive him.
They pulled him from the water and continued their efforts as they took him to authorities in their boat.
The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Karl Gander.
The Crawford County coroner says Gander drowned.
The incident was reported at about 3:05 p.m. and took place about 5 miles south of Bourbon.
