(HERCULANEUM) With construction projects slated to begin after the first of the year, the Dunklin R-5 School District will be holding a contractor meet and greet Thursday, July 27 at the Pevely Elementary School Cafeteria. The meeting will take place between 4:30 and 7:30. This past April, district patrons passed a $13.5 million bond issue called “Proposition Safe Schools”. Revenue from the bond issue will fund safety improvements, the construction of a new gymnasium for Herculaneum High School, as well as other projects.
Dunklin Superintendent Dr. Clint Freeman says the meeting will be a good opportunity for local contractors to introduce themselves.
According to Freeman, a couple of projects will go out for bid in August.
Freeman is hoping contractors will be looking for new projects with the new calendar year.
Again, the event begins Thursday evening at 4:30.
