Educator at Potosi High School Wins 2024 Missouri Teacher of the Year Award

(Potosi) Congratulations goes out to Greg Kester.

The Potosi High School social studies teacher has just been informed that he is the 2024 Missouri Teacher of the Year, selected by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Kester says he was nominated by a former student.

Kester will be honored on Monday, October 16th in Columbia.

He also tells us about his teaching career.

Kester becomes the 55th Missouri Teacher of the Year since the program began back in 1957.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Social Studies Education and his Masters of Arts with an Emphasis in Teaching from Southeast Missouri State in Cape Girardeau.

Kester lives in Festus with his wife and two children.
