Elizabeth “Betty” Gamel – Service 01/24/20 at 7 P.M.

Elizabeth Anne “Betty” Gamel of Festus passed away Saturday at the age of 86. Betty was the owner/operator of the former Flamingo Cafe in Festus. She loved watching the St. Louis Baseball Cardinals and was a big fan of the Gonzaga Bulldogs Basketball team. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crystal City, and VFW #3777 Ladies Auxiliary. She was well known for her homemade cookies and pies.

She is survived by her daughter Kim of Crystal City; sons George of Festus, and Tim Rissler of Canada; sister Margaret Zenner of Idaho; brother Ray Schaff; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous family and friends.

Funeral services for Betty Gamel will be Friday evening at 7 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus with interment at the Gamel Family Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be this Friday afternoon from 4 until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Memorials in Betty’s memory are preferred to the Gamel Family Cemetery Association or Sacred Heart Church.
