Emergency Crews Respond to 4th Big River Water Rescue this Summer near Cedar Hill Park River Access

Crews with the Cedar Hill Fire Protection District responded to the Cedar Hill Park Big River access on July 29th in reference to a water rescue.

Cedar Hill Fire Chief Mick Fischer says the call came out around 4:40 that afternoon.

According to Chief Fischer, this is the 4th water rescue his department has responded to at Cedar Hill Park this summer.

While it’s a nice park and emergency crews encourage people to enjoy the scenery and the beach alongside the river, they do not recommend swimming near the parks river access.

It was on July 5th when 34-year-old Kasey Schmeiderer of House Springs was swept away by the water current and drowned in the same area along the Big River.

The two teenagers and woman were checked out and cleared by EMS personnel on scene.
