Encouraging Signs for Jefferson College Softball Heading into 2020 Spring Season

(HILLSBORO) Tony Cook enters his 14th year as the head coach of the Jefferson College softball program after a 43-13 record last season.

Coach Cook got a chance to see what his team might look like for this upcoming spring season by having them play a very tough 2019 fall schedule.

Of the 17 players on the roster for the 2020 season, 4 of them are Jefferson County athletes. There is Jessica Veselske of Windsor, Erica Fletcher of Festus, Kelsey Boyd of Hillsboro, and Lauren Duff of Fox.

Coach Cook has something to say about them.

Then there is Kaylynn and Alyson Tucker, both from Farmington High School. Kaylynn is a freshman and Alyson a sophomore. Alyson is coming off a 2019 season where she batted .481 with 5 home runs and 57 RBI’s.

Coach Cook shares his thoughts on them both beginning with Alyson.

Non-local players on the team that Coach Cook expects great things from are pitchers Kristina Bettis and Hailie Farris and 2nd baseman Hannah Chambliss. The 2020 spring season for the Jefferson College softball Vikings begins February 14th and 15th down in Fort Worth, Texas for the Cowtown Classic.
