Eric Michael Smoot of Hillsboro died Thursday at the age of 53. He was a retired firefighter of the Hillsboro Fire Protection District.
He is survived by his sons Nicholas Smoot of Hillsboro, Zachary Parker of Michigan, sisters Tracy Stiles of Hillsboro, Dolores Robbins of Iowa, mother Marcella Smoot, brother Stephen Smoot and one grandson.
The funeral service for Eric Smoot will be Friday evening at 7 at the Hillsboro Community Civic Center.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 3 until 7 at the Hillsboro Community Civic Center with a firefighter walk-through at 6 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert D. Brown Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
