Fall is part of Brush Fire Season

(Jefferson County) The majority of the fall months is in what fire agencies consider brush fire season.

The threat of wild or brush fires typically occurs when the weather has been dry with warmer daytime temperatures and gusty winds.

Hillsboro Fire Protection District Chief Brian Gaudet says despite the recent rainfall we have received, there is still a concern for the potential for brush fires this fall.

Chief Gaudet adds for those that intend to do outdoor burning, never leave your fire unattended and always check on it the next day.

Brush fire season runs from mid October through early December and again from late February through mid April.
