(JACKSON, Mo.) – The Farmington Knights boys basketball team fell on the road Friday night, as the Saxony Lutheran Crusaders earned a 53-46 win on KREI.

The Knights got off to a quick start in the first, outscoring the Crusaders 17-12.

Junior guard Brant Gray had 8 points in the first.

Gray would finish with a team leading 18 points, but Farmington went cold in the second quarter.

The Knights did not record a field goal, and Saxony took a 23-19 lead into halftime.

From there, senior Crusaders forward Andrew Schwarting took over the game, scoring 13 of Saxony’s 15 in the third frame.

After the seven point loss, head coach Terry Noble says the second quarter ultimately led to the defeat.

Farmington is now 2-2 and will return to the court next Friday at Cape Central.

Former Knights head coach Justin Callahan and Saxony move to 2-3 and will play in the MAC Rotary Shootout on Saturday on the MyMoInfo SportStream against Fox around 1:30.
