Farmington Boys Get 2nd Close Win Over Fredericktown on J-98

(Farmington) One night after their girls prevailed in an MAAA matchup against Fredericktown the Farmington boys earned their second close win over the Blackcats this season, 63-59 on senior night in Black Knight Fieldhouse. In the first meeting, Farmington stormed to an 18 point lead, but needed a late three to prevail. This time the game went back and forth and no one led by more than seven.

Andrew Starkey scored 21 for Fredericktown with six assists. He hit this triple during an 11-2 Blackcat run to help his team take a one point lead to the locker room…

Sam Woodson came off the bench for the Knights to help them overcome a six point second half deficit…

And Farmington freshman Tatem Tinsley hit his third three late to help Farmington to the win…

Farmington was up by only one with 1:18 left. The Knights went 20 for 23 in the game at the free throw line to help perserve the victory. Cannon Roth scored 17 with 10 rebounds and a perfect 11 for 11 at the line.

Farmington improves to 7-8 and 1-1 in the MAAA. They host Sikeston on Tuesday. Fredericktown falls to 6-8, 0-2 in the MAAA. The Blackcats go to Arcadia Valley on Tuesday.
