Farmington Boys Soccer Tops Fredericktown Tonight on KREI

(Farmington) The first soccer game of the year on Regional Radio is in the books and the Farmington Knights defended their home turf with a 4-1 win over the Fredericktown Blackcats tonight on KREI.

Fredericktown got on the board first with a beautiful goal from over 30 yards out off the foot of Patrick Sikes with 18 minutes remaining in the first half.

Farmington wasted no time in responding with two quick goals to close out the half by Maddox Brenneke and Brandon Schaupert to go into the break leading 2-1.

Then it was all Knights in the second half as Cade Blackmon put the game out of reach in the final 15 minutes of play.

Blackmon was named the Applebee’s of Farmington Player of the Game.

The final goal was scored by Landon Veach to give the Knights a 4-1 victory.

Farmington head coach Addae Rique says he was proud of the way his team adapted in the game.

Fredericktown head coach Jamie McCoy says his team looked much improved in their second game of the season.

Farmington improves to 2-1 on the season and will next be on the road against North County on Tuesday.

Fredericktown falls to 0-2 and will next face North County at home on Wednesday.
