Farmington catches fire to knock off Festus in district semis on KREI & KJFF

(Farmington) The Farmington Knights did their typical explosive damage in a 78-65 victory over the Festus Tigers last (Tuesday) night in the Class 5 District 2 boys’ basketball semifinals on KREI and KJFF.

It was Festus who stormed out of the gates with a strong start.

But, just as soon as they trailed by 10, the Knights suddenly bust out a 21-3 run to the close the first quarter and lead 26-17.

Farmington would not slow down from there, as Brant Gray finished with a game-high 25 points to help the Knights lead by as much as 18 on their way to the win.

Head coach Terry Noble says the discussion after taking an early punch was simple: get back up.

Jacob Jarvis added 20 points and was named the Applebee’s of Farmington Player of the Game as Farmington wins its 6th straight and improves to 18-7.

The Knights will now play in their fifth district championship game in the last 6 years when they face North County Friday night in the Class 5 District 2 finals on J98.
