Farmington City Council Holds Lengthy Meeting

(Farmington) Five public hearings were held Thursday night as part of the Farmington City Council meeting. City Administrator Greg Beavers says the majority of time at the meeting was spent discussing a special use permit request by Gabe Crawford to construct a private sports complex off of Wallace Road. Beavers says a lot of people were there with questions about the proposal.

The issue will be back on the agenda at the January meeting of the council. In other business from Thursday night’s Farmington City Council meeting, the council approved a lease purchase agreement with First State Community Bank involving improvements to the baseball field at Engler Park. An agreement with the Highways and Transportation Commission for sidewalk work on Highway ‘H’ was approved and the council also went with Brockmiller Construction for work at the east wastewater treatment plant.
