(FARMINGTON) – Voters in Farmington will decide on the renewal of two existing sales taxes next April. The city council officially placed the items on the ballot by passing two ordinances at Thursday night’s meeting. City administrator Greg Beavers said they are both one quarter-cent sales taxes; one dedicated for transportation and the other for storm water control and parks.

The council also discussed the feedback from a newly-installed three-way stop at Maple and Alexander Streets, which so far has been mixed. Beavers said the purpose of the extra stop signs was in preparation for a new sidewalk and crosswalk on Maple Street.

The next Farmington city council meeting will be Monday, Nov. 25 at 6:30 p.m.
