Farmington Defeats North County on the Diamond

(Bonne Terre, Mo.) Farmington bested North County 14-2 in high school baseball tonight on J98. The game served as senior night for six senior Raiders. The Knights took advantage of a couple of North County errors and rattled off four first inning hits to take a five run lead. Third baseman Justin Mattingly delivered the biggest knock.

Karter Kekec led off the bottom of the first for North County and after reaching on an infield single he stole both second and third, and then scored on an overthrow to make it 5-1.

Riley Resinger kept the Raider offense off balance throwing all five innings. He did not allow an earned run, gave up four hits, struck out two and walked one. Resinger says he had a great time doing it.

Assistant coach Josh Hoehn says Resinger is a real technician.

Blane Worley, Tyler Thebeau and Chip Barth all got two hits for the Knights.

This was the first outing of the summer for North County. Coach Dan Harris is hoping for more when the two teams meet again Thursday in Farmington.

Farmington is now 2-1 this summer as a high school team.
