(FARMINGTON) – In a closely contested battle, the Farmington Knights boys basketball team sneaked past the rival Central Rebels 49-45 in a game heard on KREI. Central started well on a 7-0 run, but the Knights found some outside shooting and eventually led by ten at halftime.

Tycen Gray led the Knights with 16 points and six rebounds.

Central made another push in the second half behind 17 points from Breven McMullen.

The Rebels had a few chances near the end to tie or take the lead, but the Knights held strong defensively. Farmington coach Terry Noble said his team stayed composed toward the end.

With the win, the Knights are now 15-2 overall and 3-0 in conference play. Central fell to 8-10 and 0-3 in the conference. Both teams will be back in action Tuesday, with Farmington visiting Ste. Genevieve and the Rebels hosting Fredericktown.
