Farmington Escapes Potosi 23-18

(Potosi) Potosi outgained Farmington in week two by 90 yards, but the Knights blocked a punt, forced a fumble, intercepted a pass in the endzone and held on in the final seconds for a 23-18 win…

The Knights jumped out front 10-0 with a Brady Cook field goal and a Drew Felker QB sneak. Potosi responded by giving the ball to Blake Henson…

Henson finished with 218 yards rushing, 19 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
Henson busted loose with an 80 yard run in the second half to set up a Blake Coleman to Blake Missey touchdown pass that gave Potosi its first and only lead of the game.

Missy caught 11 balls for 112 yards. He caught what looked like the go ahead touchdown with less than a minute left, but it was called back by a penalty.
Farmington responded on its next possession as Drew Felker completed his only passes of the game and handed off to Kaeson McClain…

The freshman McClain rushed 24 times for 99 yards and two scores. Felker ran 14 times for 101.

Farmington coach Erik Kruppe appreciated his team’s never say die attitude…

Farmington picks up its first win and will start SEMO North play at Sikeston at 1-1. Potosi goes into MAFC play at Frederickton at a tough luck 0-2.
